McGregor vs. Mayweather: Fight Rules The long-awaited fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor has finally been confirmed, with the two superstars set to square off in the ring Aug. 26. After months of negotiations, the two prolific fighters have agreed to square off at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV. But, what are the rules for this once-in-a-lifetime bout? The purse for the fight has yet to be disclosed, but it has been reported that each fighter will make over $100 million. Dana White told ESPN that everyone involved with the fight is “very happy” with the deal. Mayweather reportedly earned approximately $330 million for his victory against Manny Pacquiao in 2015, and the fight against McGregor is expected to shatter any gate and pay-per-view records, according to news.com.au. Due to the type of match, Mayweather will enter the bout as a heavy favorite. Mayweather is a five-division world champion and has a 49-0 record. He will be exiting a 23-month retirement at the age of 40 to face McGregor, according to ESPN.
